Pokemon Go are safe to install

Pokemon Go are safe to install into operating system of mobile devices although still there are party who doubt the safety of the game made by Nintendo and Niantic, said cyber security experts, Pratama Persadha.
The debate and controversy of Pokemon Go has not yet ended. In fact, the news emerged that Pokemon Go could endanger state security.
In the United States, security threats also hit these virtual game lovers. It has been quite a lot of reports of accidents which involving Pokemon Go players because crashing or being hit by vehicles.
They are much focused and do not cares about the condition of the environment during hunt Pokemon.
Pratama who is also chairman of the Research Institute for Communication and Information Security System Research Center (CISSReC) asserted, the concerns of Pokemon Go endangering state security should not be excessive.
“The basis of the Pokemon Go is Google Maps, and Google in Indonesia are permitted by the government. So, I thought, concern was unnecessary excessive,” he said.
Fears of several parties, he added, especially since Pokemon Go mark some point strategic location as Pokestop and Gym.
Appearing the assumption that Pokemon Go to map out strategic locations to endangering the state. According to him, data from the game are sent to the developer server, not to the suspicious parties.
According to the research by CISSReC team, when user played Pokemon Go first time, apps will be directed to https://stats.unity3d.com which is a pokemon server located in California, and then proceed to https://appload.ingest.crittercism.com, also in California.
He explained, Crittercism is a mobile application performance management (APM) used by Pokemon Go. Further, when the game is played, the data will be sent to https://pgorelease.nianticlabs.com.
When viewed from the permissions, the Pokemon Go application did not ask for run at startup. Most malware is definitely trying to run at startup. For Pokemon Trainer Club, the authentication is sent to https://sso.pokemon.com/sso/.
“In addition, fears circulate in society that our photo location to catch Pokemon was also forwarded to Pokemon Go server. This matter is very exaggerated,” he said.
From the research that conducted by CISSReC, the data that is sent to the server Niantic no more than 50 KB. The data file of this size is not enough for the good quality photo.
“If you want to prove, you can try by yourself to use monitoring application bandwidth, such as My Data Manager. We take a photo somewhere, then sent it via e-mail,” he said.
Compared with the data while capturing Pokemon with the background of a photo in the same place, he said, the comparison of the data size that was submitted is different.
“In comparison, once took photos in full HD screen, file photo generated could range up to 3 Mb. Considerably compared with the data sent every time we catch Pokemon, not more than 50 kb,” he said.
